Milla Jovovich visits Moscow for movie premiere

Hollywood star Milla Jovovich has arrived to Moscow for the premiere of her first Russian-language-movie.

In The Whims, directed by Timur Bekmambetov, she stars as a Moscow beauty caught in an unlikely romance with a small-town teacher.

Jovovich came to Russia with her mother, Galina Loginova, who also acted in the movie.

In The Whims, Milla Jovovich stars alongside Ivan Urgant and Konstantin Khabensky.

The premiere was held at the October cinema in central Moscow.

Ahead of the screening, the Hollywood star, together with director Timur Bekmambetov and the other actors, spoke to journalists.

Jovovich shared a joke that was played on her during filming.

"When I was making the speech for the entire company, I was memorizing it every night, all night long. And they made this joke. I read the text, and they said, very well, you can go now, Milla, we’re done. And then they showed up and said, you know, we ran out of film in our camera, we have to redo the speech again. And I felt like crying, as I thought I had to do it all over again. And I saw him say ‘let’s start, action!’ But I realized that the camera man wasn’t doing anything, he wasn’t even looking. I asked, are we starting? What do you mean, start? So I started, as I’m a professional. And then everyone began to sing, and it was so much fun. And I cried like I think I hadn’t cried in 20 years."

During her visit, the Ukrainian-born actress also unveiled her star on the Walk of Fame in Moscow.
